When the "Lord of the Rings" movies first came out I kept up with all the news headlines with Xenite.Org. I don't really care about Balrogs but I have found that the truth about balrogs is only an essay away. I have enjoyed reading many Tolkien essays through the years and I believe that Michael Martinez is a really good Tolkien scholar who does better research than most other people.

Andre Norton won an award that was inspired by the Balrog of Moria in the Lord of the Rings. Michael Martinez wrote a really funny essay about the Balrog of Moria that keeps me laughing every time I read it. He made some good points about the truth about Balrogs on his blog. Other people write about Balrogs too but I think it's all very silly.

I have been interested in Tolkien studies for a very long time. I have read all the books and enjoy reading what people think about the Hobbits and Dragons and Elves and things.

There are other good sites out there about the Lord of the Rings and you can find many Tolkien essays around the Web. I think many people disagree with each other just so they can write essays. I don't really know but it's interesting to read all the different ideas that people have.

I occasionally visit the Tolkien Forum to see what people have to say about this great man's books. Sometimes I want to write something but there are so many smart people there I am afraid they will laugh at me.
